Teodora Vojinović
Microcosm
Sculptures and Installations
Salon 77, May 14 – June 2, 2024
Microcosm – a world in miniature, a small part of the world that can be viewed to some extent as a separate world, and from somewhere as a reduced image of the big world or macrocosm, the world at large. Teodora Vojinović’s sculptural vocabulary is characterized by reduction, on the one hand, the minimization of means and relationships, and on the other hand, monumental architecture in a gallery format. Also, her micronarrative is so unobtrusive that it openly encourages individual experience through her works. She expresses herself subtly and subtly encourages contemplation and reflection on the world. The exhibition “Microcosmos” in Salon 77 consists of the cycle sculpture “Moons” and the installation “Flowers”, then the installations “Reflections” and “Rain”. Taken together, these works formally compare the forms of the natural and artificial environment, and their juxtaposition aims to highlight the exceptionality of phenomena from the primary context and its revalorization.
Teodora VOJINOVIĆ (Čačak, 1993) completed her master’s degree in applied sculpture at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade (2018). She is the winner of the “Radeta Stanković” Award for the best sculptural achievement of students of the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade and the ULUPUDS Award. She has realized four solo exhibitions and participated in 50 group exhibitions.
