The Military Command of the town in 1903 bought the building and called it “Officers’ Club”. At the beginning of the World War I, when Nis was the war capital; it held some meetings of the Government and, among other things, the Declaration of Nis was signed on December 17, 1914 which has taken the decision on the unification of Serbs, Croats and Slovenians. The building had repeatedly altered its purpose. Extensive work of reconstruction and renovation was completed in 2016 when the interior courtyard was covered, resulting in a so called “Big hall” measuring 260 square metres. By minimal adaptation in June 2017 this hall was transformed into a showroom.
