The Photography and New Media Collection is the smallest collection in the Niš Gallery’s art collection and currently consists of forty-seven works of art or ensembles. Through purchase, donation by artists, after solo exhibitions and through the participation of artists in the work of the Art Colony “Sićevo”, works by domestic (Branimir Karanović, Božidar Plazinić, Mirko Marić, Aleksandar Rafajlović, Snezana Rančić Pešić, Anica Vučetić, Saša Stojanović, Aleksandar Kelić, Nevena Popović, Velizar Krstić, Korina Gubik, Marija Kauzlarić and Andijana Zaharajević, Čedomir Vasić, Dušan Otašević, Dušan Todorović, Miljan Nedeljković, Vladimir Perić, Rina Vukobratović, Goran Despotovski, Arpad Pulai, Slobodanka Stupar, Zoran Naskovski, Đorđe Odanović, Dragan Jelenković) and foreign artists (Germany, Canada, Great Britain, France, Austria, Bulgaria, Slovenia) were acquired for this collection.

The Photography and New Media Collection has been following a multi-layered movement, primarily in domestic art. As these changes in the mid-1990s were accompanied by more intensive research in the field of media presentation, the conditions were created for a more rapid expansion of this collection, which will take place during the 2000s. The emphasis on the development of the Photography and New Media Collection today largely relates to the purchase of reference works from the artist’s oeuvre.
